The reason Jambo is a hero is because he shed a ridiculous 9 stone for his first fight! (For real, here's a new article about it) WHIT! That’s more than a full Corinne! Total legend and an absolute heart of gold to match, we couldn’t say Yes quick enough when he asked us to be part of his big day with the lovely Mary-Ann (They even asked me at a Thai boxing show… there’s a theme here!)
Anyway, the day was an absolute cracker – It’s so funny, I’ve seen Jamie fight full contact Muay Thai (Like, getting punched and kicked by another human being...) but I have never seen him look so nervous as when me and Corinne arrived at the venue (Think the first photo says it all). You’d think marrying the love of your life would be less nerve wracking that having your face punched in… apparently not.
Enjoy!
]]>I'd photographed Fiona & Stevens baby girl Heleana the previous year (She's the cutie with the pink blanket!) so was absolutely delighted when they asked me to photograph their wedding in Italy - Naturally I said "Sì" immediately!
I think it's safe to say that most photographers have a Destination Wedding on their bucket list, so I was buzzing for this - But also nervous. I don't speak Italian (Contrary to what you may have read), I'd never even been to Italy and I'd be shooting on my own without Corinne! But I pulled on my big boy pants, jumped a flight across the English channel and the rest of Europe and arrived in Pisa!
The place was incredible (Ill let the photos do the talking, finally) - The location, the weather (Despite the rain starting off as being BIBLICAL at first), the gorgeous couple, the decor, the outfits, THE FOOD! Don't get me started on the food, oh my days, and there was also a wee dog! Literally every GOOD WEDDING boxed ticked.
There was a cool relaxed atmosphere about the day, must be that Italian way of life - It went without a hitch (Except some angry chef shouting at me in Italian brandishing a huge carving knife - turns out he wanted to know who was cutting the cake) and it was seriously one of the best weddings I've ever been too - Just really different, fun and full of love.
I will never forget the sound system blasting Bits & Pieces louder than I've ever heard out over the tranquil vineyards of Pieve Di Pitti. What a party.
Enjoy!
One of the coolest things about being a wedding photographer is being invited to all sorts of cool venues. Especially when you're given free reign to explore and see parts the general public wouldn't get to see just because you've got a camera and a couple.
I think every wedding photographer has a list of venues they want to tick off their bucket list, the start of the year seen us tick off a big one at GGs Yard!
We were invited by Fiona and Tony to document their wedding in January and it was a belter, all the classic hallmarks of a traditional wedding - tables named after pizzas, a bride on a tractor, an after dinner game that involved a bridesmaid stealing a guests bra... Just the usual!
GGs yard is amazing, Julia and her team were fantastic and made the day an absolute breeze for the new Mr and Mrs Avino.
Did you know, the name comes from the owners very own GG, that is, their great granny! The building is dedicated to their wee granny, who by the way, still rides the zip line on a regular basis! What an absolute hero.
You can really tell there's a lot of love put into the venue and it really helps when you're celebrating a wedding, we can't wait to go back.

If you know us, you know how much we love a wee, intimate wedding so Marie & Lens sounded right up our street. We’ve always wanted to shoot in the Grand Central Hotel too so we were buzzing to be considered.
A lot of folk get quite overwhelmed when they start looking for a photographer for their wedding day, there’s loads of amazing talent out there and incredible work, so how do you choose? I always recommend that couples meet up with potential photographers, it lets them know if they’re suitable for the job - or if they’ll do their nut in! Getting on with your photographer should be a huge factor when choosing.
As much as we pride ourselves on having a natural, non obtrusive documentary style, there’s still a lot of interaction that goes on between photographer and clients before, during and after their wedding - We always want to leave a wedding feeling more like we've made some new pals, had a great day and done a good job rather than just turning up and taking photos - we never want to be just another supplier.
Thankfully Gary didn’t do anyone’s nut in with he met up with Marie and Len to discuss their big wee day and a few months later this is what happened. Enjoy!;
I love when couples get in touch because they like our work or when we're recommended by other couples (All of our couples have been awesome!), we pride ourselves on creating a bond with our couples - I'll never forget when we received a review saying it was more like having a pal at the wedding than someone they hired - That’s our mantra! So when we meet a couple and we have a pure laugh, we know its going to be a cracking day. After meeting Sharon and David in the ever glamorous Starbucks (other coffee shops are available) I knew me and Corinne were going to have a belter on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.
I LOVE Weddings on Loch Lomond, there's so many venues - The Cruin, Lodge on the Loch, Boturich Castle, Ross Priory... there's loads! And they all have their own charm. We'd never done Duck Bay Marina so we were pretty excited as we rocked up on that sunny (but freezing) October morning and you KNOW it's going to be a cracker when Chewbacca turns up dressed to the nines!
Enjoy!

It took place in the beautiful Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel, a venue located in the heart of Aberfoyle, just 40 minutes from Glasgow. I love visiting these places to photograph weddings – the scenery on the drive up always makes me feel right Scottish!
Scotland is beautiful. In my opinion its the most dynamic country on earth (And not just because you can get 4 season in one day). We have some of the most picturesque scenery on the planet, we have Lochs that have songs written about them, we have castles steeped in history peppered across this glorious landscape. We have wildlife such as Puffins, Otters, Seals and Deer... But we also have Midges.
For my English fans who might not be acquainted with Midges, keep it that way. The are the little, annoying, brother of the mosquito. A pound land version of a mosquito. Teeth with wings. The Highland Menace.
Gillian, Martin and their bridal party were absolute troopers putting up with these beasts as they reigned down an endless assault all day - The 14th picture down is a candid shot between formals where their onslaught became too much!
Midges aside, the ceremony was beautiful - The bridal party arrived in their cream VW Camper van with Gillian shortly behind in her white Merc complete with matching ribbons. The umbrellas came out and it was a short dash into the ceremony room to meet the patient Groom, his face was aglow when Gillian walked down the aisle with her Dad. I've done loads of weddings, but can honestly say Martins look of admiration and wonder as Gillian was placed by his side was one of my favourite. When you as a photographer feel butterflies for them you know it's gonny be a belter.
The ceremony was rounded off with some surprise singers and musicians just like "Love Actually"! AND DID YOU KNOW that the scene was actually inspired by the funeral of Jim Henson, creator of The Muppets, where Muppets attended and sang a song! Brilliant.
I'd actually been told about this surprise before the big day but due to being so caught up in the moment I completely forgot - It's not every wedding you're greeted by a trumpet player, though am considering making it part of my contract...
Another aspect I might add into my contract is the requirement for a balloon modeller - The one of this day was incredible! Making Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Muppets, and worryingly enough the most requested item - Weapons. To be fair, to see a crowd of grown adults and kids battling with Huge Axes and sword made out of balloons will never not be funny - He even made a Bow with firing arrows! Incredible stuff. Sadly there are no photos of this part due to my insurance not covering me.As the night went on as did the fun with some of the best speeches I've ever heard including a brilliant story about Martins Mum legitimately using a bowl to place over his head and cut his hair! I didn't think people actually done that but there you go.
Congratulations again, guys - It was an absolute pleasure to be part of it!
]]>I seen Lisa then nearly had a heart attack when I seen Jackson walking in seconds after her. I shouted "SHUT YER EYES! ITS TRADITION!" he replied "Whit? We got the same taxi!" So that was me telt.
I Should've realised that this wasn't going to be a standard wedding when Lisa walked in wearing a black leather corset with matching spiked heels and a dress made by Jacksons Mum. You cant beat an alternative wedding, and these two rocked it big time.
With the best man arriving fashionably late we were good to go and it went something like this; (Would highly recommend opening up Youtube and blasting 'Cock Sparrer - Because You're Young" as you view - It was played during the signing of the register and was a particularly excellent touch for these two!)
Enjoy!
